At first I found this picture a little bit disorienting, but this is the view through the two way fireplace. It perfectly places your eyes on the two sinks on the other side....Water vs. Fire
Notice the wallpaper pattern on the ceiling
Located in the picturesque hills of Mill Valley, California, the Hillside House by SB Architects sits right across the Golden Gate Bridge from San Fransico. Not only is it a beautiful home, but it has a Platinum LEED rating, which means it has the highest level rating for 'green' architecture. I love how this home molds into the hills within the midst of the surrounding trees so well. It sits perched in the trees allowing views spanning over the beautiful hills and valley. The western red cedar siding and its very vertical form are a perfect match for the California hills.
Reptile textured leather, lace up front, nylon ankle, and zip-up heel...this shoe is the definition of mixed media. I'm always looking for unique and new high-tops and these certainly caught my eye with their super high tongue and thick snap strap.

-Monica sporting the gold on gold-
After the global popularity of the 'Franz' sunglasses, Mykita teamed up with designer Bernhard Willhelm to celebrate the success. Willhelm originally designed these shades to accompany his winter collection inspired by the 1976 Winter Olympics. What makes these aviators so unique is that they are equipped with flash mirrored lenses coated in 24-karat gold. Each pair comes with a hand numbered box and certificate of authenticity. These are not your average aviators, the 'Franz 24k' is for show stoppers.
The wife of footwear and accessory designer Donald J. Pliner, Lisa Pliner has finally released her self-titled collection 'Lisa' for this Fall. As the creative director for Donald's line and alumni of Parson's School of Design, this really shouldn't surprise anyone. Of the many designs, the above 'Isi' shoe is my favorite of her collection. They look like high fashion boots that have been mounted on a 4-inch heel. This shoe has a real rock-glam style with the side zipper and studded tongue. I like how the shoe lace wraps around the ankle the 'milk white wash' colorway has an antiquated appearance, which almost always adds style to any look.

Lately I've really been listening to a little house music here and there and since I'm already a fan of Pharrell, this collaboration with Swedish House Mafia is perfect. Watch the full video for the shock ending, i bet it's not what you expected.

These Metsa three finger rings are made entirely by hand, and each of the names above is the actual wood each ring is carved from, no staining included! Inset at the edges are dots of pure sterling silver, which I think is a nice modern touch.....These also come in two-finger rings which I prefer, but sometimes you gotta pull out that three finger ring that no one else will have one.
Slowly but surely two-finger rings have surfaced back onto to the scene. Made of solid brass and silver coated brass these Vane rings are reminiscent of classic brass knuckles, but they represent more than just breaking faces. There is a underlying notion of hard work displayed with the phrase 'Nothing Promised' and the engraving of 'New York', the city that never sleeps and where dreams are made.
Here are just a few styles from the Balmain Fall/Winter 2010 look book. The men's collection is surprisingly not as flashy and fierce as the women's collection I posted before. This new men's line portrays a rugged style paired with a couple classy looks as well. For the most part, I'm just a fan of these looks from the waist up because of their successful use of layering. But I do enjoy the first 2 looks in their entirety.

Earlier I posted Trey Songz' outfit for the 2010 MTV VMA's and I mentioned that I really liked his boots, but I was unsure of who made them. Well I just found out that they are Gucci leather zip up boots, which explains why they are nearly the perfect boot. It is very interesting because it seems to mix various styles into one shoe. The side zipper is really alternative, the top 'hooks' add a combat/hiking aesthetic, and the toe of the shoe is dress casual.

Trey keeps his style consistent, and for the VMA's, he was dressed to kill on the red carpet, with his modern military style outfit. The green leather jacket definitely set him apart from the other artists, who were mostly draped in black and white. The I love the high collar and the ruffled texture of the arms. I also didn't notice that his pants were dark brown until I saw the pictures. I don't know how I feel about this, I think that black would have done the job, because the brown pants paired with the green jacket push the military theme a little too far. But Trey's combat boots are perfect, they are just high enough, the tongue doesn't flop over, and they aren't too slim. Overall this was a red carpet success for Mr. Steal-your-girl.
